We visited Alex yesterday. Since we know our days our numbered, we figure we can afford the extra gas that comes with visiting a lot again, so we’re going to try to get in a lot of visiting before he’s too far to visit more than once a week. Mid-September Update
A lot has been going on lately and not much time to write. Alex’s mood has been very erratic, and we can’t really figure out how to explain it, so it’s just another mystery. He’s on allergy meds now, so we can’t blame seasonal allergies this time (though maybe he has extreme allergies, who knows). His list of medications is pretty long now — we requested a print-out of it just Sunday — and we don’t really like the idea, but we’re considering trying Haldol again. We’re also going to have to push hard on Rapamycin when we see his neurologist in a couple weeks or so. We hate all the medicating, but there doesn’t seem to be any option for getting hash. We will keep giving it as we can, but until we can get real legal help, we’re just stuck. Continue reading “Mid-September Update”
Updates – July 4th
The past couple weeks have been pretty darn good as far as visiting Alex. The whole family was up for a while (still preparing for the move, but they visit when they can), and because of the extra support, we were able to have Alex visit our home instead of just going to visit him in his. Updates – June 19th
This was a wonderful week. I’m getting more settled into my job, I’ve got my computer set up so I can keep in touch with everybody supporting us, and more importantly, all four visits with Alex went really well. I gave him hash (off-site, mind you — we aren’t allowed to administer ourselves on their property) each visit, and I am hoping that’s helping take off the edge, even though each dose is fairly small.
